In the 2008 Homeless Count there were AT LEAST 3,062 people homeless in Metro Vancouver.

Since 2002, there has been a shocking 137% increase in overall homelessness and a 373% increase in the number of people sleeping outside. /.

Heroes who are working to end homelessness

At the October 14th event, we are continuing a tradition, which began at the 2007 Forum, as we once again seek to honour BC Local Heroes who are working to end homelessness. Individuals, Agencies, Groups and Programs can be nominated. We are looking for nominees who are engaged in the following areas:

• Prevention Services, Rapid Re-Housing, Housing First, Subsidized Housing with Clinical and/or Community Supports, Needs Based Planning and Goals, Philanthropy, Community Action
